Training & Qualifications
Track member training records, manage qualifications, and set renewal reminders.
Training records
Training records capture structured training activity for members — not the same as Academy syllabi (which are for flight schools). Training records are available to all organization types.
Go to Admin → Training to see all training records. Go to Admin → Members → [Member name] → Training to see a specific member's records.
Adding a training record
Admins and instructors can add training records from a member's profile:
- Go to Admin → Members → [Member name] → Training → Add Record
- Select the training type
- Enter the date, instructor, and any notes
- Save
Qualifications
Qualifications are certifications or endorsements that members hold — for example: private pilot certificate, tow pilot endorsement, glider rating, first aid cert, or club-specific sign-offs.
Go to Admin → Qualifications to manage the qualification types your club tracks.
Adding a qualification type
- Go to Admin → Qualifications → Add Qualification
- Name it (e.g. "Tow Pilot Endorsement")
- Set whether it expires and the expiry period (e.g. 24 months)
- Save
Assigning a qualification to a member
Go to Admin → Members → [Member name] → Qualifications → Add Qualification. Select the type, enter the issue date and expiry date (if applicable), and save.
Expiry tracking
Qualifications with expiry dates are tracked automatically. Go to Admin → Qualifications → Expiring Soon to see a list of qualifications expiring in the next 60 days. Members are not automatically notified — you'll need to contact them directly or configure reminders.
The qualifications report
Go to Admin → Reports → Qualifications to see a full matrix: which members hold which qualifications, issue dates, and expiry status. Export to CSV for record-keeping.
Academy (flight school) training
If your organization is a flight school using Canopy Academy, structured syllabus-based training is managed separately. See:
